Purpose: Segundo a Lei nº 9.985, de 18 de julho de 2000 que institui o Sistema Nacional de Unidades de Conservação da Natureza, a categoria de Monumento Natural faz parte do grupo de Unidades de Proteção Integral, cujo objetivo é manutenção dos ecossistemas livres de alterações causadas por interferência humana, admitido apenas o uso indireto dos seus atributos naturais. Esta camada compreende as poligonais e informações legais sobre o Monumento Natural do Conjunto Espeleológico do Morro da Pedreira e o Monumento Natural Dom Bosco.
