<idPurp>A Base Hidrográfica Ottocodificada (BHO) utilizada pela ANA na gestão de recursos hídricos é obtida a partir do Mapeamento Sistemático Brasileiro. A BHO é gerada a partir da cartografia digital da hidrografia do país e organizada de modo a gerar informações hidrologicamente consistentes. Para tanto, a BHO representa a rede hidrográfica em trechos entre os pontos de confluência dos cursos d'água de forma unifilar. Cada trecho é associado a uma superfície de drenagem denominada ottobacia, à qual é atribuída a codificação de bacias de Otto Pfafstetter.
